encryption: playing for speed

So after a night of coding I decided to play with different ciphers to see which ones ran faster, because it pointless to focus on just security, ya want speed to right!

One layer encryption:

The following where the fastest three I in my tests. Blowfish shouldn’t be used as your primary encryption, and aes is generally considered the safer / secure choice, twofish is also considered good, but aes is again recommended. top three.

blowfish
twofish
aes

double layer encryption
blowfish->twofish
blowfish->aes
twofish->aes

triple layer encryption
twofish-blowfish-twofish
blowfish->twofish->aes
aes->blowfish->aes
aes->twofish->aes

And there you have it the top three (speed/security) ciphers from my testing. This is by no means scientific, But maybe it helps. I’m partial to two fish as it has good strength and speed, but will prob end up using aes, as the rule of thumb is if aes is available use it.
