I believe in love - Might seem strange but thats the easiest way to explain it. If we strive to do everything we do with passion, and thinking how does this help someone other than me eventually it becomes second nature and we’ll find ourselves changing the world - maybe I’m a dreamer, but then again I love sleep ( when I get It).
My main focus is making the world better, but that starts with you - not the world. I think developers can change the world, designers always have, and I’m looking forward to seeing the next couple of generations who grow up in this interconnected, information at you finger tips age. My primary goal is to give back - I could probably give alot more, but I’m happy with what I do. I strongly believe in 5 random acts of kindness, and try not to focus on the negative.
I believe that if you give back to the community (whether it’s flash, php, web, or Real life), you’ll be ok. That said you still have to work your butt off, because you only get back, what you put out. Yeah i know, it’s called karma. I tend to think positive, because if all you think is negative, thats all thats gonna happen. people tend to think i’m an idealist, but i’m actually a very strong realist, with my beliefs being shaped from experience vs ideas. Reality is bleak, and the only way to change it is through ideas of what it could be.
I also strongly believe that the only way to obtain peace is by understanding violence. Sounds weird to alot of people, but the better I become as a fighter ( mma / fma ) the more peace i find internally and in life. Fighting isn’t violence - it’s an art form thats more technical than linux and more graceful than dancing.
Understanding violence means being prepared for what may come, I think if more people understood basic self defense, fma, or at least something that applies in real situations there’d be alot less violence, and far less ego’s and fear causing it.
So there you have it, my contribution on beliefs in a world full of them.
